The soils data is shown as polygon data and provides different information based on scale.  SSURGO data provided to Esri September 2011 by USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Fort Worth, TX.  The Esri Soils Team created a map with 130 of the most useful variables in SSURGO. This map displays information depending on scale: Soil Order (soil type) from 1:40,000 and greater; Soil order and Suborder between 1:9,000-1:39,999;  lastly Runoff Ability from 1:8,999 and smaller along with labels that provide MapUnit Name.  Mapunit Name provides slope and soil description.  Contact the City of Columbia IT/GIS Division with questions about this data. ",
